Parish Pastoral Council Today & next Sunday we have a very important undertaking to do.
Today, with the leaflet to explain about, there is a Nomination Form, that you might put forward names of people you think are interested in the Life of the Parish, concerned for the on-going faith development of parishioners, who have a care for the future of the parish. At the end of Mass we will distribute the leaflets/ Nomimation Forms, with biros, so that today or by next Sunday you can submit tyour nominations & put in Box at the Church door.
Benedict XVI inaugurated the Year for Priests on feast of Sacred Heart of Jesus. Theme is "Faithfulness of Christ, Faithfulness of Priests." The Pope said "The Church needs holy priests, ministers to help the faithful experience the merciful love of the Lord & to be convinced witnesses." For this, he invited the faithful to pray "that the Lord inflame the heart of each priest" with the love of Jesus. He asked. Golden Jubilees Congratulations to Monsignor John Doherty, P.P., Gurteen celebrating his 50th. Anniv. of Ordination this Sun. at 7pm in Gurteen Church. Brother of Paddy in Bulcaun. Also, Mons. Joseph Spellman, of Ballaghaderreen, retired P.P. Collooney, is 50 years a priest, & retired Archbishop Josepoh Cassidy, from Charlestown, was ordained for Achonry Diocese.

Helena Walsh A special word of thanks to Helena, Principal of Rooskey N.S. as Thursday is the final day, since very sadly it will be closing. For Helena it marks 31 years teaching there, 15 years with Junior classes & 16 years as Principal with Senior classes. Our appreciation to Helena for her fullest dedication & commitment to Rooskey during all the years & especially for this last year. Our Best Wishes to her in obtaining a new position.
