Cian & Bella on today's Gospel, Mark 10:42-45 • Helping out!
Bella: Hey Cian, what are you doing today?
Cian: Just hanging out.
Bella: Well I have a really sore hand and my Mum wants me to go to the shop for her. Will you help me and carry the milk and bread home?
Cian: Oh Bella, it’s too wet and I’m tired.
Bella: You obviously haven’t worked on the Gospel for this Sunday! It about helping out and giving your time and effort to others, not just looking after yourself all the time!!
Cian: Oh Bella, you are too much! We studied the Gospel with teacher alright and you’re right I will help you out today but I’m not gonna be your servant!!
How will you be a servant for God and help somebody today?
Today is Mission Sunday: Today we are called upon to play our role in assisting the missionary activity of the Church. We are given the opportunity to share in the experience of our brothers and sisters who carry on the missionary task today as they Reach Out, often in difficult and dangerous circumstances. Our spiritual and material offerings are crucial for the continued work of missionaries throughout the world. The total raised in today's collection will be sent in its entirety to support mission projects worldwide. Every gift no matter how small makes a difference.
