Choir : Sincere thanks to Tommy Davy for playing the organ throughout the year and to all choir members. As Tommy is away for Christmas Paddy Murray will very kindly play the organ. Choir preparation for Christmas following 11. 30 Mass this Sunday and next Sunday. All singers are requested to please attend.

A dvent Reconciliation Service to prepare for Christmas in Carracastle Church Wed. Dec. 16th at 7.30pm. Visiting priests will be availbable to help with confessions. Confessions in Rooskey Church on Friday Dec. 18th 7.20 – 7.45pm. Confession available at other times on request.

School Concerts - Well done to Scoil Iosa pupils, principal, teachers and to Mrs Egan & Mrs Niland for the concerts on Monday & Wednesday last. It was clear that a lot of effort was put in by everyone involved which made them most enjoyable for all who attended. 3rd & 4th class will bring their Christmas play 'Baboushka' to Carracastle Church on Sat. Dec. 19th following 8pm mass. Thanks to all who will be involved.

Carracastle Community Dinner Dance will be held in Community Centre on Fri. night 18th Dec. @ 8.30pm. Music by Pats Country Roadshow. Tickets €20 available from any member of the Community Council or from Davys.

Caiseal Gaels AGM - Election of Officers: Following comprehensive reports from the committee the following officers were elected: Patron - Fr Michael Quinn, Honorary President - Paddy Murray, Chairperson - Dermot Dillon assisted by Brendan Vesey, Secretary Michael Bracken assisted by Finbar Craughwell, Treasurer Martin Hopkins assisted by Gerry Duffy, PRO Eileen Murphy, Registrar - Mike Raleigh assisted by Sheila Fleming.

Keep fit in the Community Centre will take place on wed 16th 8pm to 9pm. This will be the last one this year. Hopefully it will continue in the new year.

Indoor Soccer there will be no more indoor soccer in the Centre untill the new year.

Christmas Party & Disco for all young people will take place in the Community Centre on Sunday next Dec. 20th from 3 – 6pm, adm. €5, Santa will arrvive at 4pm, music by Joe Dooney, proceeds towards the indoor & outdoor soccer, raffle on the day. In order to run it successfully help and donations will be required and would be much appreciated. Tea will be served for adults. Last year was a huge success so please come along and enjoy a fun evening.

Parent/Carer & Toddler Group meet every Thurs. 10.30-12.30 in the after school.

Friendship Group will meet in the Comunity Centre on Wed. 16th Dec. 11.30 – 1.30. All welcome. Break until annual dinner, more details later.

Carols & Readings for the Season of Advent in the Cathedral of the Annunciation & St. Nathy on Tues. Dec. 15th @ 8pm. Admission: Adults €5; children & primary school students free. All proceeds go to the local branch of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. All welcome.

Citizens Information Centre .The next outreach of the Citizen’s Information Centre in Cosgallen CDP, Charlestown will be held on Wednesday January 13th 2010 from 9.45am to 11.30am. Please note there will not be an outreach on Wednesday December 23rd 2009.
