Tax Rebate : Under a scheme announced by the Government a number of years ago parishes can claim back the tax that PAYE workers have paid on their donations to the parish in the collections during the year. A mimimum of €250 must have been paid during a whole year. There must be evidence that the payments were made so the scheme can only apply to those paye workers who use the box of envelopes for their donations. Claims can be made for 4 years when first applied for. It doesn't involve any extra information on the part of the taxpayer or interfere with their tax situation in any way. If you are a paye taxpayer, use the envelope and think you have contributed €250 or more you might please take a form at church door, fill in your name, pps no., tax rate, signature, address, date & telephone no. and return to the parochial house. We will look up the total of contributions from the parish records. Application has to be made before December. |
