The Gospel reading continues St. John's Chapter 6- Jesus as the Bread of Life. Following after the miraculous feeding of the multitude, 5 loaves & 2 fish- God's power is at work in Jesus, who comes from heaven with the word of life. The crowd is an unbelieving one. In St. John's Gospel the only sin is the sin of unbelief· Faith & life go together.
