The Carracastle Lass Festival

Table Tennis
Table tennis no longer takes place in Carracastle. Table tennis lessons take place every Monday 6-8pm in Carracastle Community Centre. Lessons are given by Edward Ditchburn. Contact Eddie on 087-9683308 Games take place every two weeks.  read more


Indoor soccer Feb 2010

Fr. Joes Leaving Function

Sean Nos Dancing Classes for Adults
Sean Nos Dancing classes for Adults will resume on Wednesday October 7th 2009. The classes will be held in the Pastoral Centre, Charlestown at 9pm. Please note the change of venue and time. Citizens Information Centre
Mayo Citizens Information Service will hold an outreach on Wednesday September 23rd 2009 at The Cosgallen Office, The Enterprise Centre, Airport Road, Charlestown from 9.45am to 11.30am .  The outreach is held on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.  The service is free and confidential and a wide range of areas are covered including Consumer Rights, Employment Rights, Social Welfare, Taxation and Disability Information.  . Carracastle Lass Festival 2009
The Carracastle Lass Festival was a great success. The winner was Ciara Moran representing  K D's Charlestown. Second place was Heather Hunt for The Four Ways Kilmovee,Third was Sineade McHale for Bensons Rooskey. The names of the girls are as follows:- Back row: left to right. Margaret (Peggy) O'Connor
Request from Kate King Roberts I live in the old school, Palmfield and have people returning on holiday and wish to see where their mother, father, grandfather etc went to school. They call here and we are always happy to let them come inside (amid chaos usually) to see and feel the building with all its' history. A number of walks have been organised locally in conjunction with Mayo in Motion Walking Month for June. Soogroo Childrens Arts Festival Launch
The Launch of the Soogroo Children’s Arts Festival will be held in the Gateway Hotel, Swinford on Sunday April 19th at 5pm.  The festival will be launched by the Cathaoirleacht of Mayo County Council, Councillor Joe Mellett.  This will be followed by a performance by local children who attended Sean Nos Dancing workshops, Drama Workshops and Bodhran Workshops as part of the festival.  Special guest at the launch will be a young man from Swinford, Joseph McNulty who is Wor read more


Barnacouge-Killaturley Walking Group
The next walk organised by the Barnacogue/Killaturley walking group will take place on Tuesday May 19th at 7.30pm.  The meeting place is at Kilkelly Church. All are welcome. Mayo Sports Grant
The Board of the Mayo Sports Partnership invites applications from sports clubs/organisations who have a central focus of increasing participation in sporting activities in County Mayo.
